General

Which areas do you cover?

We’re based in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, and work with businesses and homeowners across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.

Do you work with homes as well as businesses?

Yes. We install networks, Wi-Fi, CCTV and Starlink for private homes as well as offices, schools, retail and industrial sites, farms and holiday lets. No job is too small.

What are your opening hours?

Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. For urgent network faults outside those hours, call our emergency line on 07971 131520. Customers on a support contract also benefit from 24-hour emergency cover.

Cabling and testing

Which types of network cable do you install?

We install Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7A copper cabling, and both singlemode (OS1, OS2) and multimode (OM1 to OM5) fibre optic cabling.

Should I choose Cat6 or Cat6A?

Cat6 is a good fit for most everyday networks. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over the full 100 m channel, so it’s the better choice for longer runs or if you want extra headroom for the future. We’ll recommend the right option for your site.

When is fibre a better choice than copper?

Fibre carries more data over much longer distances than copper, so it’s ideal for linking buildings, long runs across a site and high-bandwidth backbones. Copper cabling is usually the practical choice within a building.

Will my new cabling be tested?

Yes. Every copper installation is tested with Fluke DSX-5000 equipment and every fibre installation with OTDR testing, and you receive the full certified test results for your records.

Do you offer a warranty?

As an accredited Excel Networking partner, we can offer a 25-year manufacturer warranty on complete structured cabling installations.

Wi-Fi and wireless links

Which Wi-Fi systems do you install?

We supply and install Ubiquiti UniFi, which gives enterprise-grade performance for homes and businesses and can be expanded easily as your needs grow.

Can you get Wi-Fi or internet out to an outbuilding or garden office?

Yes. Depending on the distance and layout, we can extend your network with cabling or with a wireless point-to-point link, which avoids digging trenches.

Can you connect buildings that are some distance apart?

Yes. Wireless point-to-point links connect buildings across a site or a farm without underground cabling. We survey line of sight, distance and interference first, then recommend the right equipment.

Starlink

Will Starlink work at my property?

Starlink needs a clear view of the sky, so we’ll find the best position for the dish when we install it. Plan availability varies by address, so check starlink.com with your postcode to see what’s offered in your area.

Do I buy the Starlink kit myself?

Yes. If you’re new to Starlink and order your kit on starlink.com using our referral link at freestarlinkmonth.co.uk, you can get a free month of service, subject to Starlink’s terms. We then handle the installation, cabling and Wi-Fi set-up.

Will Starlink make my Wi-Fi better?

Not on its own. Starlink gives you a fast, reliable internet connection, but Wi-Fi is how that connection reaches your devices around the property, and the router that comes with Starlink often won’t reach every corner of a larger home, office or site. Pair Starlink with a properly designed Wi-Fi system and you get both: a good connection, and strong Wi-Fi everywhere you need it. We can install the two together.

CCTV

Which CCTV systems do you install?

Mainly Hikvision and Ubiquiti UniFi Protect, and Uniview where required. All offer 4K and HD cameras with weatherproof housings for indoor and outdoor use.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. Every CCTV system we install includes remote viewing through a smartphone app, with motion alerts and access to recorded footage.
